We have put the van and all it's space to GOOD use this month!  We are all about helping the rescue animal, but also pet owners as COVID has limited people’s ability to provide for their beloved pets.  We transported donations from Chicago Animal Care and Control and Castle Black Paw to One Tail at a Time and the pop up food pick up (human and pet) on the Southside with MASK Chicago.  Harold came along for the ride.

We then zipped over to Indiana to meet our intake partners from South Bend, Berrien County, and St. Joseph for 30 riders!  3 pups and 27 cats are on to the good life thanks to Heartland, St. Sophia’s, and Catnap!  I got to end the week with some major cuties (spoiler they are both already adopted) Rhubarb from K94 Keeps and Hazelnut with Second City both went in for their spays! We love foster homes so dedicated and just need transport for their pups! That afternoon we headed back to Chicago Animal Care and Control and picked up 2 perfect pitties for Players for Pits.  We love seeing fosters’ faces light up as they hop out of the van!
As we said, we help people now, especially those that need us now more than ever.  We stepped up for some Southside Organizers at their basic necessities supply giveaway transporting their supplies and happily continue to assist weekly!  We got to see a lot of CACC this month, heading back for Brigitta (people, she’s available for adoption!) with Mutts of the Midway and a sweet stud for Players for Pits.   A couple days later, a ride back for another Chicago fav dog, Freddie with K9 for Keeps. Rounding out more furry friends from CACC,  Moira Rose (already adopted… gah!) with Second City Canine Rescue and Panda headed to the good life with Heartland Animal Shelter.
Brigitta - AVAILABLE
We love our Southern dogs and got plenty of their love too this month!  Darlin came up on a Texas transport we met and drove him to Animal Care League.  If you know me, you know my new found love of senior chihuahuas. Alaska, with Hot Mess Express/Lulu’s Locker Rescue needed a lift to the vet for bloodwork so we happily obliged.  Later we headed back to One Tail at a Time for more donations for their pop up human and animal food program.
We were ready for another mini road-trip to our Indiana and Michigan intake partners for some cuddly kittens headed to Catnap, equally cuddly girlie girl Ella (she’s still available for adoption) with Orphans of the Storm (yay, new rescue partner!) and her buddies Onyx and Axel.  For a quick change of some Kentucky mountains we headed up down to Louisville with Second City Canine Rescue to meet 13 of your future best friends.  We also pictured up my sweet foster kitten Sophie who had significant medical needs and trauma she couldn’t beat and she passed peacefully after a lot of love 2 weeks after arriving at our home.   While we picked up that crew, Alexis, our volunteer driver, picked up a Mama and her babies  and headed to Wisconsin and Our Pack Animal Rescue Inc.
Our volunteer drivers make the world go round and Colleen has been with us since our start!  She and Ollie had a beach date on their way back to rescue with Be Fido’s Friend (yay another new rescue partner)!  We scooped up some very tiny days old kittens for Catnap from the Heart and cuddled in the back of the van with sweet Emmalynn with with Lovin Life Rescue (that’s 3 new rescue partners, whoo hoo).  Stay tuned for the van’s first out of state transport next month and more ways to support and join our adventures!
