We continued to be so proud of the Chicagoland and Wisconsin residents for their outpouring of willingness to foster and adopt. This has given us an inspiration push of more rescues needing rides for new pups and cats! We started April with some of our favorite staff at Chicago Animal Care and Control and met the beautiful Hippo, Wallace and headed to a foster with Players for Pits. Word has it, he is listed on their website as adoptable! The next day we got to swing back to CACC and bring Rogelio to his foster with It’s a Pittie Rescue. We also celebrated some of our FAVORITE news: Sosa, is now Soda and was ADOPTED! Rescueber first met him when of helping his owner get to a vet appointment and several months later, giving him his freedom ride when he needed rescue after his owner passed away. We proudly showered him with some Bring a Buddy adventures to the city and events and couldn’t be happier to see him in his forever home! Thanks to Mutts of the Midway and their foster home for all the dedication to him! Muenster was our first kitty rider of the month and went to a foster thanks to Castle Black Paws (one of our fav cat ladies). We love our Texas dogs and McKenzie showed us her southern sweetness while getting a ride up North to Wisconsin with Our Pack Animal Rescue and she is already adopted! We got to meet the sweet Gizmo and dropped him off at Wright Way Animal Rescue after he needed some extra care his home wasn’t able to provide due to owner illness. In case you didn’t hear, kitten season is in full swing and will be bigger than usual this year due to limited access of spay/neuter surgeries. We love the sweet meows on our drive for this foursome of kittens for Heartland Animal Shelter. We met new Wisconsin rescue partner, Canine Cupid, from Milwaukee. They made a freedom ride for sweet Doja possible. I then got to meet the super pittie wiggles of Milkshake thanks to Mutts of the Midway, I am pleased to report she is just as sweet as her name! I then got to do one of my favorite things, foster some riders! Three kittens from Heartland Animal Shelter hung out with us for a few days. Young kittens are very fragile and unfortunately we lost two of them due to that fragility, but little Ms. Rosalie is thriving in her long term foster! It was time for another meet up of a Texas transport team with Mutts of the Midway and got to make sure Charlie, Della, and Clarebelle arrived safely at their foster home. Both Della and Clarebelle are available for adoption! We headed down to Southern Illinois and picked up sweet small Luella for Our Pack Animal Rescue. We were so happy to get a picture of her with her forever mama last week! We got back from Luella’s transport and headed right back out to pick up Jeffery the cat for Lulu’s Locker Rescue. We may have mentioned that transports are getting bigger than what fits in our Subaru Forrester (hello!!! Van Fundraiser!!! more on that shortly), we were so grateful to have our friends Colleen and Stephanie join in a car caravan to fit all 11 riders (3 cats and 8 pups) for Alive Rescue. We got to do another ride for three of the newest Fetch Rescue of Wisconsin pups hailing from Indiana: Piper, Monroe, and Aspen. We got home from transporting to some VERY happy mail, our monthly donor gift! They are amazing pins of one of our biggest fans, Boston Buddy! Click here to go to the website and join our monthly club for gifts and sneak peaks. We have 4 new members this month! We always strive to coordinate rides to help as many rescue partners and animals as possible. We did just that when we had a ride from Indiana up to Madison, Wisconsin for Fetch Rescue. We heard a pup from Alive Rescue a pup needed to see a specialist up there, so Emmett hitched a ride along with another car caravan with the fabulous Colleen! 5 pups got rides and we loved every minute! We finished the month with another couple long transports, one for four new pups for Alive Rescue and another with a whopping 16 cats and two pups thanks to St. Sophia’s Feline Rescue and Heartland Animal Shelter! Speaking of Heartland, they gave us a HUGE gift in letting us use their vehicle for some of these long distance transports while we continue to fund-raise for our own. With this much space we are able to transport double digit and help multiple rescues and animal shelters in 1 ride. It’s pretty magical and we are so thankful for their commitment to help rescue animals both within and outside of their facility! This is how you save lives. We are so grateful and proud of this journey thus far. We also squeezed in the cutest kitten Lilo for her freedom ride to her first time cat foster mama with One Tail at a Time! In case you weren’t counting, that is 60 riders in April (30 pups and 30 kits) for a whopping 2,438 miles! We are also SUPER excited to announce that we have raised 15% needed for our van thanks to our monthly donors, virtual bingo, a generous new sponsor Boulevard Vet, and individual donations. We know it is hard financial season for many but every dollar makes a difference in the life to every ride from the full gas tank or the new blanket and treats to the crates that keep everyone comfy and safe. We couldn’t drive these miles without you and we can’t wait to have a van filled with riders headed to the best rescue partners in the months to come! Big thanks to our first business SPONSOR:
